Its <strong>properties are determined by the carbon ratio<\/strong>, which is usually less than 2%, and by the heat treatment to which it is subjected. The composition of this type of steel usually makes it <strong>perfect for mechanical construction and pieces for routine use<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title\"><a href=\"#\"><strong>Cryogenic carbon steels<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-inner\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.castinox.net\/en\/materials\/cryogenic-carbon-steel\/\">Cryogenic carbon steel<\/a> is prepared to <strong>display high resistance to low temperatures<\/strong>. Its most characteristic feature is its <strong>resilience<\/strong>, due to a change from <strong>ductility to brittleness<\/strong> when temperature decreases until the critical transition moment.<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title\"><a href=\"#\"><strong>Low-alloy steels<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-inner\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.castinox.net\/en\/materials\/low-alloy-steel\/\">Low-alloy steels<\/a> contain up to 0.22% carbon and <strong>are perfect for welding<\/strong>, although the level of suitability for welding varies depending on the level of carbon and other components, such as hydrogen, nitrogen, or oxygen. It is a material with <strong>outstanding mechanical properties, and highly resistant to cracking<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title\"><a href=\"#\"><strong>Refractory steels<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-inner\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.castinox.net\/en\/materials\/refractory-steel\/\">Refractory steel<\/a> is characterised by a rise in the metal temperature. This leads to <strong>lower rigidity<\/strong>, which in turns makes this kind of steel<strong> perfect for the steel industry and heat-treatment furnaces.<\/strong><\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title\"><a href=\"#\"><strong>Duplex and super duplex steels<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-inner\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.castinox.net\/en\/materials\/duplex-super-duplex-stainless-steels\/\">Duplex and super duplex steels<\/a> are <strong>highly resistant to corrosion<\/strong> and have <strong>strong mechanical properties<\/strong>, due to their composition, which includes chromium and nickel. Its main feature is its resistance to corrosive cracking caused by chlorides. This kind of steels have a <strong>high degree of overall resistance and strength<\/strong> and a <strong>low level of thermal expansion<\/strong>.<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title\"><a href=\"#\"><strong>Nickel-based alloys<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-inner\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.castinox.net\/en\/materials\/nickel-based-alloys\/\">Nickel-based alloys<\/a> have become a <strong>regular material in the industrial sector <\/strong>thanks to their properties: <strong>resistance to heat and cold, low degree of corrosion, resistant to oxidation<\/strong>, etc. This kind of alloy is perfect for areas in <strong>extreme conditions<\/strong> where stainless steel is not suitable.<\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-title\"><a href=\"#\"><strong>Cobalt-based alloys<\/strong><\/a><\/div>\n<div class=\"accordion-inner\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.castinox.net\/en\/materials\/cobalt-based-alloys\/\">Cobalt-based alloys<\/a> are <strong>highly resistant to heat<\/strong> and the wear which it causes. The fact that its properties of are similar to those of nickel-based alloys, and the<strong> difficulties of their manufacturing process<\/strong> means that they are less popular than nickel-based alloys.
