Refractory steels<\/h2>\n

Refractory steels are characterised by their modified behaviour in high-temperature environments<\/strong>, i.e. these steels are prepared to function at high temperatures thanks to a reinforced oxide layer<\/strong>. When subjected to an increase in temperature, steel becomes less rigid and experiences plastic deformation<\/strong> which depends on time. This yield also accompanied by other consequences, such as increased brittleness<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

This type of steel also experiences a change due to its medium, which gives rise to high resistance to corrosion at high temperature<\/strong>. Refractory steels usually have a high chromium and nickel content, and are recommended for processes with a risk of thermal shock. <\/p>\n

Refractory steels are mainly used in heat treatment furnaces and in the steel industry<\/strong>. <\/p>\n
