Cobalt is similar to nickel from the metallurgical point of view, as it is a hard material that is highly resistant to wear and corrosion, particularly at high temperatures.  It is generally used as a component in alloys, due to its corrosion resistance as well as to its <strong>magnetic properties<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>This type of alloy is <strong>hard to manufacture<\/strong>, due precisely to its <strong>high wear resistance<\/strong>.  Cobalt is usually employed as a surface hard material in industrial areas with critical wear.
